... can I do it better?
or at least close enough to make me happy?
I saw some killer canvas quotations on Etsy the other day and while my first thought was "Oh my gosh, I NEED to have these!" my second thought was "but not for that price!"
And so I have decided to (attempt to) create my own.
This one is so precise, I may be a bit looser with my alignment/font but regardless it's such a cool look!
I'll be equipping myself with canvas, acrylic paint, and a quote I find inspiring... let's see how I do!

So Easy!
SO EASY!
I have decided that I love baking cupcakes.
Probably not a good thing now that I think about it. Ha ha.
But they are so fun to decorate!
Inspired by some amazing cupcakes, Brittany and I took to our food coloring, frosting, and pastry bags in an attempt to create some festive treats.
Now, keep in mind, as I warned you earlier... I am in DESPERATE need of a new camera. I actually took these with my cell phone. They were so much cuter in person (not to toot my own horn of course!)
I am aware that these look like a 12 year old created them in comparison to the lovely inspiration pictures but like I said, they were so fun to make. Our guests didn't want to eat them!
Fun, easy, and creative alternative to plain store bought cupcakes or pricy pretty ones!

Hello Again!
In the days after my last post I packed up my desk and left the job I'd come to know and loathe. I was offered an amazing opportunity to leave the "career world" (a mistake in some of my peer's eyes) and step into a much more domestic role. I became the nanny for two wonderful little girls. Not one day goes by that I regret my decision. It's been busy (thus my lack of starting the blog as I intended) but so rewarding.
Now that the dust has settled and summer has begun I will be officially working on the blog again. My job gives me the opportunity to stop and enjoy life, bake, decorate, design, explore, DIY, and all the things I was searching for time to do in the first place! I am so excited to take advantage of what I have in front of me! (Did someone put some happy potion in my coffee this morning?)
I still have so much to put together; I am also in the process of getting a new camera so that I have a better chance of truly capturing what I want to. My current camera just isn't cutting it anymore.

Bedroom Blues Turned Bedroom Bliss
I love decorating. But lets be honest here.. Decorating would be a lot more fun if money wasn't such a big factor. If you are anything like me you are probably trying to do the best with what you've got. Trends change and so do personal tastes, so dropping big bucks isn't always the best bet for a room transformation.
I'm in the process of making over my (small) master bedroom; Taking it from a buttery yellow to something a bit more glam.
I have been majorly inspired by other fabulous bloggers, such as Jenny from Little Green Notebook with her killer silver leafed nightstands and crystal lamps.

I am also really into the muted purple and greys.

And adding simple elements to up the class.
Inexpensive glass, crystal, and acrylic knobs can add a rich feel to a variety of items.

I am on a mission to make some major headway without breaking the bank.
Lets see what I can come up with!
